Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has met on Tuesday al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi, the General Secretary of the General People's Committee of Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
During the meeting the Leader of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasized that Ukraine paid great significance to the strengthening of the cooperation with Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and expressed confidence that visit of Mr. al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi and his meeting in Kyiv would let Ukrainian-Libyan relations enter new level. "We appreciate strengthening of the dialogue between our countries on the highest level", - V. Lytvyn stressed and added that Ukrainian Parliament has extremely positive attitude towards the contacts with Libya.
The General Secretary of the General People's Committee of Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi declared in his turn that his country is friendly to Ukraine "and support the direction of development Ukraine has chosen". "We are for the development of cooperation and make everything possible in order contracts and treaties concluded during the visit are implemented into life", - Mr. al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi announced.
He directed his speech to the Ukrainian Parliament with ask "to facilitate the cooperation that should be based on the mutual trust and common views onto the future". On the behalf of the Libyan Parliament he directed the official invitation for V. Lytvyn to visit Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed thankfulness for the invitation and assured the highly esteemed Guest that Ukrainian Parliament "is unanimous concerning the development of cooperation with Libya". "We would adopt the decisions that open the green light for the cooperation in all the spheres". According to V. Lytvyn, "we possess objects of common interest".
